Summer is a time for kids to enjoy, but it can also bring extra grocery costs for families. That’s where SUN Bucks comes in—a new program that provides extra grocery benefits for children during summer break.
The good news? Most eligible families are automatically enrolled. If your child already receives free or reduced-price school meals, you likely don’t need to do anything more.
Who Needs to Apply?
You may need to submit an application if your child is not already receiving free or reduced-price meals through:

A School Meal Application or Universal Benefits Application (UBA)

Enrollment in CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal
Deadline to Apply
📅 Submit your application by September 2, 2025 at your child’s school to ensure you receive these important benefits.
