It’s true that there are government-funded safety net health and nutrition programs for people in need, but sometimes those most in need lack any way to access them. Imagine trying to complete an online benefits application, but you don’t have a computer or smartphone. You could go to the library and use a free computer, but you don’t have any bus fare. Your two hungry children are disruptive in the library, but you have no childcare for them while you work on an application that can take hours to complete. You have dyslexia, which makes it hard to even read the questions, much less respond to them. At StLRS, we are dedicated to overcoming barriers like these to help individuals and families enroll in programs that provide basic human needs. With your support, we can continue to provide vital resources and assistance to those in need.
