As a response, the federal authority declared a state of public health emergency and provided temporary flexibilities for CalFresh. These are known as CalFresh Emergency Allotments. Since March 2020, Emergency Allotments are provided to all eligible CalFresh households on a monthly basis. ![Old blog post covers (6)](https://stlouiseresourceservices.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Old%20blog%20post%20covers%20(6).png?width=1140&height=633&name=Old%20blog%20post%20covers%20(6).png) Recently, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 has ended the issuance of CalFresh Emergency Allotments to households in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that many households will experience a decrease in CalFresh benefits starting April 2023.
